We will continue to see a physical convergence of the digital world. Those who conquer that trend will be market leaders … John Phillip
At that time in that world, it was belly-to-belly marketing and word-of-mouth recommendations that drew in interested prospects.
Meet Alice, a good traditional networker in the 1970’s who believed her MLM sulphate-toxin-free household and personal products were healthier than store brands and gladly shared her stories and business with others … passed out business cards to find new prospects, attended local trade fairs, sometimes hosted a fun home party, always respected the team leader on his meetings’ calls, sometimes used his expertise on 3-way calls; even once attending a convention with yellow T- shirts to share supper with high hopes.
But then, gradually, the internet waves started lapping bigger and bigger against these traditional shores. And there, in short time, she met Marvellous Max, an early programmer who promoted his magnetic self-branded advertising programs to leave a virtual footprint, a neon sign, of who you are.
“Alice, don’t you want to stand out in this virtual world, be a special Guru to attract followers and drip on prospects without talking to them.
Alice, just think your backyard can be the whole world, we can build a Conveyor Belt to Galactic Success! You can be the Queen of Lists and I’m the King of Traffic!”
Alice was intrigued but hesitant about how much work that would take.
“Alice, together we can create some digital fireworks with keywords, right subject lines, banner ads, floating buttons, space ads, and unlimited sales funnels. Believe me, you don’t need to talk to anyone, just program yourself to be a leader everyone wants to follow and support.”
Her networking mindset was confused, “Sounds like guru marketing to tout leadership skills but that’s not building a home business based on relationships.
This may work great for physical items like books or boots but how can it lay the long-term trustworthy base for a home business partnership to make money from home?’’
But the internet teemed with magnetic gurus, social media sparkled with activity; and, soon, Alice said yes to follow Marvelous Max’ impositions.
Soon enough, business websites, personal blogs and self- branding quickly developed. Alice worked through midnight hours, enrolled in self- empowerment programs, wrote articles, solo ads, invested endless time and money into these programs to become her own INC self-brand , competing with lucrative marketing superstars and huge ad agencies to stand out in the crowd.
She proudly posted her business website resonating bells and whistles…product benefits, comp plans, success stories, testimonials, and even famous endorsements. The number count showed many viewers but who did not join the opportunity. Some standard was obviously missing…the human marketing connection…how to treat prospects, sell to informed customers, build relationships, ask for referrals, retain conversions, and increase profits.
Over time, she quietly watched how unregulated internet marketing ran full throttle as an all-reckoning Force with disruptions, adaptations, strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures, phishing scams, fake opportunities, visionary experts, huge income pools and pitiful cash flow trickles in a burgeoning mass market.
But, always, the early power brokers with spirit of innovation prevailed to make fortunes with their unique promotions that also set the tone to be seen, not heard, reactive not reflexive, exploiting the dream for an average individual to succeed.
Once in discussion with Max, she said, “All I see is the death knell for MLM online marketing. We all saw how there was a brief period when the MLM jungle thrived online with mercenary, ego-driven entrepreneurs who took advantage of proper networking principles with promises of dollar bills falling from the sky, exotic cars and holidays, and 200% commissions. This was just a brief flash into oblivion filled with vulnerable bodies. Soon enough eBay and Amazon readily displaced products with 70% markups to pay distributors’ commissions.
The truth became self-evident much later: that MLM was never about self-empowerment or mass exposure.”
Max could only agree, “ At the beginning it was a wild west frontier mentality that set a certain tone to marketing that was flashy, easy advertising without accountability; probably damaging or warping peoples’ mindsets about the basic principles of MLM.
But there is no way to deny that with a few keywords and clicks, in a very short time, the largest transfer of wealth did move from offline to online. Whether we are ready or not this new Digital Age has given birth to a new Digital Economy where a new Personal Economy is possible. E-commerce and M-commerce are accelerating.
We know a few digital marketing entrepreneurs became millionaires and the challenge still remains how to displace huge income disparity with income mobility on this Internet Connection Economy made by and for all people. How did they do it?”
So, having survived the early revolution, Alice and Max decide to collaborate to offer their offspring the best chance to embrace the values of traditional networking linked to the opportunities of internet marketing. The possibility is clear that if mastermind gurus could compound their elite skills and help average people to maximize their skills and profits, that more Internet profits would be co-operatively shared.
6 goals are set to help their offspring thrive online:
- Fix mistakes of not having interested prospects to talk to by providing leads
- Ensure all team members also have leads, same vision and dialogue to grow
- Train online marketing strategies as an academy of internet skills
- Help close sales by expert sales professionals and correct messaging to establish integrity and psychological safety for leads
- Focus on distributing digital products every online business needs vs physical products with shipping costs
- Add a Savings App if possible in a cellphone-centered society
They look at each other. “What’s the chance for this kind of company to ever materialize out of this void of MLM failure and massive misrepresented internet conditioning?”
“It will work if networkers understand the gift of leverage as the medium to use masterminds to help build their global online business. Our offspring will prosper with the right mindset and duplication of super marketers,” smiles Max.
And, so, it is that the Universe sometimes gathers the energies and wishes can come true. Such a company called We Got Friends is recently formed with a group of top masterminds with the necessary online strategies to distribute valuable products for online success.
Main networking problems are fixed by providing monthly leads with help to close sales. Other planned goals are realized.
