None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful. ~Mother Teresa
So, I had a nice digital lady contact me the other day with the promotion to help my marketing with better engaging videos. She called me after I opened her sales letter and first complimented me on a blog I wrote.
“I see you like to write blogs — very interesting. But you should make videos as marketing assets and we can help design high quality campaigns with an omnichannel editor for content and image creation.”
She continued,
“Every good marketer needs a platform to drive their brand consistently to prove its impact and awareness at every stage on social media. Why not work faster and smarter. And we can help create video landing pages and immersive experiences your customers will love.”
And then she said the wrong thing,
“You don’t need a product to get results with videos.”
It was my turn to say my spiel:
“First, I am an English teacher who writes blogs that are well researched with lessons to be learned.
One of the significant advantages of blogs is the depth and detail they can provide on a particular topic. Such posts allow for extensive explanations, analysis, and examples unlike videos often constrained by time limits.
For me, I believe writing is the best way to sell because it helps to segment the market with people who have purchasing power.
In general, adults prefer to read before buying, such as reviews and blogs.
And, if they read, they can’t be doing anything else; therefore, your attention is maximum to influence their decision.
As well, it is easier to share a blog than make a video by team members.
Second, I started my network marketing career 20 years ago following fundamental business principles to join a parent company, use their marketing tools to share the products and make team referral and non-referral commissions in a multi-level matrix.
Then, at that time, we relied on word-of mouth-recommendations at home parties, back yards and hotel social events where friendly people shook hands and often sampled products.
In fact, huge wellness legacy companies grew hundreds of thousands of members and many top leaders made millions that showed great products and the financial structure could work.
Then, internet marketing arrived on the scene and magnetic marketers appeared everywhere with clarion calls to make a self brand, stand out, grow a list of followers, learn latest technical tools to mass advertise, make flashy videos with more-hype-the-better to catch the eye like a neon sign. They proclaimed:
You don’t need to call people anymore. Be a guru and people will call you.
And the loudest, and often dishonest, videos went viral.
So, here’s my bottom line…two points:
One, network marketing has always been about average people who aspire to a better life. How can they aspire to the massive learning curve of ever-changing technology to even come close to competing with masterminds?
Two, my networking time will not be spent wondering about how to harness the newest technical advancement or how to be a loud popular superstar on social media. I’m not interested in onboarding secrets, how to make reels or use an anti-niche strategy on Instagram.
Not every networker wants the job to be an aspirational leader but more of how to help every day people with health and financial goals.
My time will be best spent by talking to real people and better relate to their background or problems. Along the way we will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of a multi-level compensation plan. I will help with follow-up questions to a webinar if they are interested in nutritional science and latest trends in health optimization with unbelievable testimonials.
I will never present information via blog or video that has any other purpose except to educate and make a better society based on cooperation and teamwork.
I am not interested in making videos for social platforms for any other results except to share honesty with words, both written and spoken.
Not interested.”
PERSONAL NOTE
Over the years the only brand I tried to develop was to be a fair home business mentor. My motto was that no family should be disenfranchised from the Internet as the economy moved from offline to online.
My objective has always been how to replace personal dreams with marketing skills that work by leveraging and duplicating the powers of the technical masterminds.
I look forward to “meeting” you if you have common interests in the nutriceutical wellness industry with the launch of a new MLM Swiss company called Electi considered to be the next predicted billion $ MLM company for Health, Wealth and Happiness with new “Pure Cell” technology that is best bioavailable for cellular nutrition.
As well, Electi offers unique advantage of pre-launch timing for top team positions.
